01The Challenge

Demand Outpaced a Historically Solid Bench

This partner maintained a solid Palo Alto Networks bench. Historically it was enough to cover customer demand and support their Diamond partner status with Palo Alto Networks.

Two things changed. Customer demand for PANW deployments grew. At the same time, attrition and reallocation reduced the internal bench. The gap between capacity and demand widened steadily.

The partner had a well-established practice of working with external service partners across other cybersecurity and IT domains. For PANW specifically, they had engaged a major service provider in the past with mixed results. When the capacity gap became acute, they needed a delivery partner they could trust with high-stakes Palo Alto Networks work.

Hire Internally?

6 to 18 months to build a new bench. Hiring is taxing, unpredictable, and carries heavy capital investment. The gap needed to be filled now.

Another Specialized PANW Partner?

Past experience with a major PANW service provider delivered mixed results. Finding a partner who consistently delivers at a Diamond level is the industry's hardest problem.

Refer to PANW PS?

Handing opportunities to Palo Alto's own PS team meant losing control of the customer experience and risking the account relationship entirely.

"We can't afford to put an under-qualified engineer on a Palo Alto deployment. Our Diamond status and our customer relationships depend on it. CWS gives us a bench we trust."

Why CWS

Four Reasons This Worked

Trust Was Earned Prior

The relationship started with a different engagement where CWS delivered at a level that reset the partner's expectations. Successful engagements and joint solution offerings led leadership to explore where else CWS could add value. That evaluation led directly to PANW.

Full PANW Portfolio Depth

NGFW, Prisma, Cortex. CWS covered the full stack with senior practitioners ready to deploy immediately.

Speed and Communication That Enabled

CWS did not just move fast. CWS kept the partner informed and in control throughout. Scoping, staffing, and delivery matched the partner's sales cycle, with proactive communication on progress, roadblocks, and scope changes.

Purpose-Built for the Channel

CWS was built from the ground up to enable channel partners with services. Everything about how CWS operates, from practitioner positioning to delivery structure, is designed to strengthen the partner's customer relationships. Not a side benefit. The entire model.

02The Engagement

From Proven Trust to Extended Bench

Phase 1

Trust Built on Prior Engagement

CWS delivered a high-stakes engagement at the level the partner's brand demanded. That delivery set the foundation for everything that followed.

Phase 2

Capability Review and Expansion

After the initial success, the partner reviewed CWS's full capabilities across service domains. Leadership identified where CWS expertise could add value across their organization. PANW was one of the most immediate fits.

Phase 3

PANW Backfill Begins

The partner began routing PANW opportunities to CWS where internal capacity was unavailable. CWS absorbed the gap without ramp-up, delivering across the full Palo Alto Networks portfolio.

Full Portfolio

NGFW, Prisma, Cortex

CWS now delivers across the complete PANW stack: NGFW deployments and migrations, Prisma cloud and SASE implementations, and Cortex XSIAM, XDR, and XSOAR deployments.

Pre-Sales

SMEs on Customer Calls

CWS technical SMEs join customer calls during evaluation to provide deployment scoping and technical depth, accelerating deal close.
